MELODY VAUGHAN
For many years now, I’ve been using the changing of the seasons – the solstices and equinoxes – as marker points along my way to reflect on how things have been going in my life and in my practice.
These points in the year seem to naturally reflect a shift in energy or awareness for me, and so I find they work better as reminders to pause and pay a bit of attention.*
With the ongoing effects of the pandemic, war and genocide, social injustice, cost of living crisis and the climate emergency, it feels even more vital to question everything we’ve known, everything we’ve taken for granted or ignored, and pay attention to what our inner voices are calling us to do.
My seasonal reviews include gentle, holistic prompts around these ideas. They include questions to help you explore how your creative practice is going, but also acknowledge the shifts in all aspects of our lives over the past few years and how we can respond to the changes ahead.
My hope is that the questions in the creative practice review will give you a moment to pause and reflect on all the things you need, love and want to have more of going forward, as well as being mindful of the things you could let go of, that no longer serve you and the ways in which you are being changed by this moment.
